Frameworks for PassivDom smart homes will be 3D printed

PassivDom is a Ukrainian startup dealing with the development of smart homes and buildings. The project aims to increase energy efficiency and eliminate the dependence on external connections, keeping comfortableness at the same time. Energy supply is provided by solar panels fixed on the roof, while high-quality thermal insulation of windows and walls ensures comfortable living conditions even in northern territories.

The first stage of construction is assembling of walls, windows and roof – this task is performed by robotic manipulators, while the framework is 3D printed. For this purpose, the following materials are applied: vacuum panels, fiberglass, carbon fiber and polyurethane, so that house is protected against moistness and rust. Due to thick 20 cm walls, heat-trapping ability of such house is as good as that of brick one.

The size of a basic unit, ModulOne, is 36 m2. User can also apply blocks of ModulDva. Autonomous modules come with furniture and other home appliance connected to the Internet of Things. The manufacturer also offers additional options.

Size of modules is suitable for transportations: blocks are compact and light (19 t). The price of a basic unit is €40 thousand.
